MISSION STATEMENT AND VISION<\/h2>\n

JoMO is a source where optometrists and other eye care\u00a0 professionals can go to publish and learn about medical optometry. The specialty of Medical Optometry encompasses the medical diagnosis, management and treatment of primary and secondary diseases and disorders of the human eye, adnexa and visual tracts. Our vision is to create a journal that offers focused case reports with literature reviews as well as original research and articles. A journal where doctors can go to find focused answers for the care of their patient as well as answers to questions they didn\u2019t know they had.<\/p>\n

TYPES OF ARTICLES<\/h2>\n

Original articles, original research, case report and literature reviews, article reviews, textbook reviews, photo essays, theme\/recurring columns, editorial columns, \u201cguess-the-disease\u201d images and letters to the editor.<\/p>\n

OPEN ACCESS<\/h2>\n

The article processing charge (APC) will be paid by ABCMO so authors of accepted peer-reviewed articles will receive perpetual unrestricted online access to their published article to readers globally, immediately upon publication. All articles are subject to the journal\u2019s standard peer review process and will be accepted or rejected based on their own merit.<\/p>\n

Before writing a full article, please use the portal link in the Submissions Tab to submit an abstract for review. The Journal of Medical Optometry uses a Double-Blind Peer Review process so all author information will be removed before the review begins. With that in mind, make sure you eliminate subtle \u201cidentifiers\u201d such as Employers or Facilities from your abstract before submission.<\/p>\n
